## Before you start
- You are signed in.
- Access to the new address's inbox.
- About 5 minutes. If you own a workspace, add a 24-hour wait.

## Change the address
1. Click **Settings** at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Open **Profile**.
3. Replace the address in **Email address** with the new one.
4. Click **Send verification code**.
5. Open the email titled "Confirm your new yaya email" in the new inbox.
6. Type the 6-digit code under **Confirmation code**.
7. Click **Confirm code**.
8. Sign in again with the new address.

Confirming ends every session on every device, so step 8 is needed.

## Owners wait 24 hours
If you own a workspace, the account is on a 24-hour security hold. You can request the change now, but **Confirm code** only works after the hold ends. The code then stays valid for up to 48 hours from the request. Everyone else has 30 minutes.

## Limits
- Each code works once.
- The sixth wrong code cancels the request.
- Each account can start 3 changes per hour.
- Click **Cancel change** to drop a pending request.

## Fix common problems
**The address already belongs to another account.** Use a different address.

**The code did not arrive.** Check spam, then click **Cancel change** and start again.

**Confirm code does nothing during the hold.** Wait until the time shown under the field.

Your public **Business email** under **Business details** is a separate field. Changing your sign-in address does not change it.
