## Before you start
- You cannot own any workspace. Hand each one to a teammate or delete it first.
- You need access to your account's email inbox.
- Export anything you want to keep. See [Export your data](/support/articles/account/export-your-data).

## Delete the account
1. Click **Settings** at the bottom of the sidebar.
2. Open **Profile** and scroll to the **Delete account** heading.
3. Click the **Delete account** button under it. The **Delete your account?** dialog opens.
4. Click **Send deletion code**.
5. Open the email titled "Confirm your yaya account deletion".
6. Type the 6-digit code.
7. Click **Permanently delete account**.

yaya signs you out and sends you to the login page. This cannot be undone.

The code works once and expires after 30 minutes. The sixth wrong code cancels it. The limit is 3 codes per hour.

## What is removed and what stays
Removed: your sessions, your Google link, your account API keys, your profile, and your access to any workspace you were a member of.

Kept: records that belong to a business, such as contact notes, uploaded files, site generation history and the invite log. Support requests you sent also stay.

## If you own a workspace
Open **Settings** > **Team**, click **Make owner** next to a teammate, then delete your account. If nobody else is on the team, delete the site instead.

## Delete a site, keep your account
1. Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K and choose **Business data**.
2. Type the site's slug under **Delete**.
3. Click **Delete this site**.

Cancel any active subscription with **Cancel plan** in Billing first, and disconnect or settle any custom domain. Your account and other sites stay.

## Fix common problems
**You own a business.** Transfer ownership as above.

**Wrong code.** Click **Resend code**.
