# Sell items on your website

List items, add a storefront, and help shoppers use the cart and checkout.

## Before you start
Connect payments in **Money** > **Payments** before accepting card payments. Listing an item does not activate payments.

## Create an item
1. Open **Sell**.
2. Click **New item**.
3. Choose an item type.
4. Click **Next**.
5. Enter the item name, description and price.
6. Click **Save draft** to keep it private, or **List** to sell it.

**Physical product** and **Made-to-order** support shipping or pickup. Set store rates in **Shop settings** > **Shipping rates**.

**Digital download** accepts a PDF file. Paid orders provide a secure download link. **Service package**, **Pre-order for pickup** and **Other** describe how you fulfill the item.

**Membership fee** and **Course** are item types. The course editor lets you write modules and lessons. Cart checkout does not include recurring membership billing or buyer lesson access.

## Add the storefront
1. List your first item.
2. Click **Add Items page** when prompted.
3. Publish your website.

The storefront shows listed items. Shoppers open an item, answer its questions, and click **Add to cart**.

## Use the cart and checkout
**Your cart** opens a drawer with quantities and a subtotal. **Checkout** collects contact details and any delivery choice before opening Stripe payment.

Shoppers see an order confirmation after payment. If payments are off, the store says it is not accepting payments.

## Change an item
Open the item to edit it. Use its actions menu to **Unlist**, **Duplicate** or **Delete** it. Unlisting removes the public item without a site publish.
