## Before you start
- Invoices sent to a customer with an email address.
- About 1 minute.

## Turn reminders on
1. Open **Settings** > **Invoices**.
2. Switch on **Automatic payment reminders**.
3. Pick a **Reminder schedule**.
4. Click **Save** in the bar at the bottom of the window.

## The three schedules
- **Standard**: 7 days before the due date, on the due date, and 1 and 3 days after.
- **Gentle**: on the due date and 3 days after.
- **Persistent**: 7 and 1 days before, on the due date, then 1, 3 and 7 days after.

Reminders go to unpaid invoices marked **Sent** or **Overdue**. Each names the invoice, the total and the due date, and links to the PDF and the same pay link the invoice email had.

## Turn reminders off for one invoice
1. Open **Invoices**.
2. Open the **...** menu on the invoice row.
3. Choose **Turn off reminders**.

Choose **Turn on reminders** from the same menu to resume.

## Questions
**Do reminders stop when the customer pays?** Yes. Only unpaid invoices get them.

**Where do I see what was sent?** Open the invoice, click **⋯**, and choose **Email history**.

**Why does an invoice turn Overdue with reminders off?** Overdue follows the due date. It does not depend on reminders.
