Point a Namecheap domain, like nexumcorp.org, at your yaya site with a CNAME record in Namecheap's Advanced DNS.

## Before you start
- Any plan. Connecting a domain you own is free on Free, Launch and Grow, and yaya adds no fee for it.
- A Namecheap login and a published yaya site.
- About 10 minutes, plus waiting for DNS.

Keep the old Namecheap site running until yaya shows **Connected**. Changing the record replaces it.

## Get the record from yaya
1. Open **Website** > **Domain**.
2. Type the name in **Hostname**, for example `www.nexumcorp.org`.
3. Click **Connect domain**.
4. Read the **DNS steps**. Keep the page open. The CNAME target and any TXT value come from yaya, and they differ for each domain.

To use the bare name `nexumcorp.org`, see [Use a subdomain or www](/support/articles/domains/use-a-subdomain-or-www).

## Add the record in Namecheap
1. Sign in at Namecheap and open **Domain List**.
2. Click **Manage** next to your domain.
3. Open the **Advanced DNS** tab.
4. Delete the old record for the same host. A new Namecheap domain often has a `www` CNAME that points to a parking page. Delete a URL Redirect record on the same host too.
5. Click **Add New Record** and choose **CNAME Record**.
6. Type `www` in **Host**. Paste the target from yaya in **Value**. Leave **TTL** on **Automatic**.
7. Click the check mark to save.
8. Add the TXT record if yaya lists one. Choose **TXT Record**. Type only the part of the name before `.nexumcorp.org` in **Host**. Paste the value from yaya.

For the bare name, Namecheap has an **ALIAS Record** type. Use it with **Host** `@`.

## Check the connection
1. Return to yaya and click **Check again**.
2. Wait for **Connected**. yaya sets up HTTPS on its own.

yaya re-checks every 15 seconds while the page is open. DNS can take minutes to a few hours.

## Keep your email working
Change only the web record. Leave MX and TXT mail records as they are. See [Keep your email working](/support/articles/migrate/keep-your-email-working).

## Fix common problems
**Advanced DNS shows no way to add records.** The domain uses nameservers from another company. Add the record at that company, or switch the domain to Namecheap's own DNS under the **Nameservers** setting.

**The card stays on "Waiting on DNS".** See [Fix a domain that won't verify](/support/articles/domains/fix-a-domain-that-wont-verify).

**I want yaya to manage all DNS.** See [Move your DNS to yaya](/support/articles/domains/move-dns-to-yaya).
