## Before you start
- Any plan. Connecting a domain you own is free on every plan.
- An Infomaniak login and a published yaya site.
- The domain uses Infomaniak name servers. Infomaniak says the zone counts only then.

In yaya, open **Website** > **Domain**, type the name in **Hostname**, and click **Connect domain**. Keep the **DNS steps** open.

## Sign in and find the DNS page
1. Sign in to the Infomaniak Manager at `manager.infomaniak.com`.
2. Open the domain management section.
3. Click the name of your domain.
4. Click **DNS Zone** in the left menu.
5. Read the table in **Simple Mode**.

In French, the names are **Zone DNS** and **Mode Simple**. In German, they are **DNS-Zone** and **Einfache Ansicht**.

## What the screen calls the fields
- **Source** is the host. Leave it empty for the bare domain. Type a subdomain such as `www` for another name.
- **Target** is the value.
- **TTL** is the cache time. Keep the default.

In French, the fields are **Source**, **Cible** and **TTL**. In German, they are **Quelle**, **Ziel** and **TTL**.

Infomaniak pages do not mention a final dot. Type the target as yaya shows it.

## Add the CNAME record for a subdomain or www
1. Click the blue **Add entry** button.
2. Choose **CNAME** in the list of types.
3. Click **Next**.
4. Type `www` in **Source**.
5. Paste the yaya target in **Target**.
6. Keep the default **TTL** and save.

In French, the button is **Ajouter une entrée** and then **Suivant**. In German, it is **Eintrag hinzufügen** and then **Weiter**.

## Use the bare domain
Infomaniak does not document an ALIAS record. Its **ANAME** page says an ANAME equals a CNAME on the root of the domain, and that this is not possible.

Use the www plus redirect route. Infomaniak names it as the workaround.
1. Connect `www.example.com` in yaya and add the CNAME above.
2. Create a web redirection from the domain root to `www` in the Manager.

See [Use a subdomain or www](/support/articles/domains/use-a-subdomain-or-www).

## Add the TXT ownership record
yaya shows a name that starts with `_cf-custom-hostname.`.
1. Click **Add entry**, choose **TXT**, and click **Next**.
2. Type `_cf-custom-hostname.www` in **Source**. For the bare domain, type `_cf-custom-hostname`.
3. Paste the yaya value in **Target**.
4. Save.

## Delete or replace a conflicting record
1. Find the old record for the same host in the table.
2. Click **⋮** at the right of the row.
3. Click **Edit** to change it, or **Delete** to remove it. Confirm a delete.

In French, the choices are **Modifier** and **Supprimer**. In German, they are **Bearbeiten** and **Löschen**.

## Check the result in yaya
1. Open **Website** > **Domain**.
2. Click **Check again**.

Infomaniak says a change can take up to 48 hours.

yaya sets up HTTPS on its own. There is no deploy step. Leave your mail records as they are. See [Keep your email working](/support/articles/migrate/keep-your-email-working).

## Fix common problems
**The record has no effect.** The domain may use other name servers. Edit the records at that provider.

**A record looks wrong.** Infomaniak has a DNS diagnostic tool in the Manager.

**Still waiting.** See [Fix a domain that won't verify](/support/articles/domains/fix-a-domain-that-wont-verify).
