# Transfer a domain out of yaya

Get the auth code for a domain you registered through yaya and move it to another registrar.

## Before you start
- A domain registered through yaya. Domains you only connected are not transferred. They stay at your registrar.
- You are a workspace owner.
- An account at the new registrar.

## Get the auth code
1. Open **Website** > **Domain**.
2. Click **Transfer out** on the domain's card.
3. Read the **Transfer this domain out of yaya?** box.
4. Click **Show auth code**.
5. Copy the code at once. yaya shows it one time.
6. Click **Done**.

This removes the registrar lock and turns off WHOIS privacy if it was on. Your site stays live on the domain until the move finishes.

## Finish at the new registrar
1. Start a transfer in for the domain, using the code you copied.
2. Paste the auth code when asked.
3. Approve the transfer in the email sent to the domain's registrant address.

Transfers usually finish in 5 to 7 days.

## Fix common problems
**I lost the code.** It is not shown again. Email support@yaya.page.

**Transfer out is missing.** The domain was not registered through yaya.
