# Move your site from Carrd to yaya

Download your Carrd site if your plan allows it, rebuild it in yaya from its address, and move your domain.

## What moves and what does not
yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live Carrd page and drafts a site from them. Carrd's site download includes HTML, CSS, JavaScript and images, but it is a static copy and forms stop working. Carrd lists the download feature on its Pro Plus plan.
## Before you start
- A Carrd login and a yaya account.
- Your domain login.
- About 20 minutes, plus DNS wait time.
## Move your site
1. Open your site in the Carrd editor.
2. Download the site if your plan includes it, and keep the ZIP as a backup.
3. Save the images you want to reuse.
4. Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste your Carrd address under **Already have a website? (optional)** and click **Import from my site**.
5. Read the description under **What does your business do?** and add details that were only in your images.
6. Pick your business type, location and language, then click **Next**.
7. Review the draft, upload your images, and publish. See [Publish your site](/support/articles/getting-started/publish-your-site).
## Point your domain to yaya
If you published to a custom domain through Carrd, open the domain's DNS records at its registrar and follow [Move a domain to yaya](/support/articles/migrate/move-a-domain-to-yaya). Connecting a domain you own works on every plan, and yaya adds no fee for it. A Carrd site often has one page, so [redirects](/support/articles/migrate/redirect-old-urls) are rarely needed.
Use [Switch DNS with no downtime](/support/articles/migrate/switch-dns-with-no-downtime) for the order of changes.
## Fix common problems
**The draft has little text.** Carrd pages are short. Write more in the description before you create the draft.
**My contact form stopped.** Carrd forms do not work in the downloaded copy. Rebuild the form in yaya.
