## What moves and what does not
yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live Google Site and drafts a new site from them. Embedded Google Forms, Calendar and Maps do not move. Rebuild those in yaya or link to them.
## Before you start
- The Google account that owns the site and a yaya account.
- Access to the domain registrar if you use a custom domain.
- About 30 minutes, plus DNS wait time.
## Move your site
1. Open your published site and copy its address from the browser bar.
2. Put the site in a top-level My Drive folder and export that folder with Google Takeout as a backup.
3. Save the images you want from the site.
4. Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste the address under **Already have a website? (optional)** and click **Import from my site**.
5. Read the description under **What does your business do?** and fix it.
6. Pick your business type, location and language, then click **Next**.
7. Review the draft, upload your images, and publish. See [Publish your site](/support/articles/getting-started/publish-your-site).
## Point your domain to yaya
In Google Sites, open **Settings**, then **Custom domains**, and click the trash icon next to the domain once yaya is ready. Google Workspace admins can also map a custom URL in the admin console. Then follow [Move a domain to yaya](/support/articles/migrate/move-a-domain-to-yaya).
Use [Switch DNS with no downtime](/support/articles/migrate/switch-dns-with-no-downtime) to order the changes.
## Fix common problems
**The import cannot read my site.** yaya only reads pages anyone can open. Publish the site to the public or paste the text.
**Takeout does not list my site.** Sites on a shared drive cannot be exported with Takeout. Move it to My Drive first.
