## Before you start
- A site with at least one page.
- About 5 minutes per page.

## Change a page title and description
1. Open your site in the editor.
2. Open **Pages**.
3. Click the menu next to a page, then click **Page settings**.
4. Change the **Title**. Click **Regenerate** on that row for a rewrite. The ⋮ next to it sets the tone: Professional, Casual, Inspirational or Persuasive.
5. Under **SEO**, type a **Description** or click **Regenerate** and pick a writing style from the menu. Search engines show this under the title. We recommend 110 to 160 characters.
6. Check the preview above the fields. It shows how a link to the page will look when shared.
7. Save, then publish.

## Other SEO fields
- **Image**: the picture shown when someone shares the page.
- **Mark this page as canonical**: use it when the same content lives on more than one page.
- **Remove from sitemap** in the same group leaves a page out of your sitemap.

> Tip: Put the thing people search for in the title, such as your trade and your city. Keep it readable. A title stuffed with keywords reads badly.

## Fix common problems
**The Page settings button is greyed out.** You have an unsaved draft. Save or discard it, then try again.

**Search results still show the old title.** Search engines revisit pages on their own schedule. Publishing is immediate. Re-crawling is not, and yaya cannot speed it up.

**The share preview shows no image.** Pick one in **Image**. Without it the preview has nothing to show.
