## Before you start
- A published site.
- **Show up in Google** turned on under **Website** > **Settings**. When it is off, yaya does not serve a sitemap.
- A Google account.
- About 10 minutes, plus the time Google takes to verify ownership.

## Find your sitemap address
1. Open **SEO & GEO**.
2. Open the **Agent files** tab.
3. Find `sitemap.xml` and click **Open**.
4. Copy the address from your browser. It looks like `https://yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml`.

## Submit it
1. Sign in to Google Search Console with your Google account.
2. Add your site as a property and verify that you own it. Follow the steps Google shows.
3. Open the sitemaps section for that property.
4. Paste your sitemap address and submit it.
5. Check back later. Google shows whether it could read the file.

Verification can ask you to paste a tag into your site. **Website** > **Settings** has a field for code at the top of every page. Paste exactly what Google gives you.

Your robots.txt file already lists the sitemap, so crawlers can find it without you. Submitting it gives you Google's report.

> Note: Submitting a sitemap does not guarantee Google will index every page or rank any of them.

## Fix common problems
**Open is missing on the sitemap row.** The site is not published, or **Show up in Google** is off.

**Google cannot fetch the sitemap.** Open the address in a private window. If it loads there, wait and retry. If it does not, email support@yaya.page.
