# Add and generate images

Upload a photo, pick stock, or generate an image from a description, then place it in a section.

## Before you start
- A section with an image slot, such as a banner or a gallery.
- Photos under 10 MB each.

## Add an image to a section
1. Click a section, then **Edit section**.
2. Click **Choose image** or **Replace image**.
3. Pick a tab in the media dialog. Your choices are **Library**, **Upload**, **Unsplash**, **Pexels**, **AI generate** and **URL**.
4. Select an image.
5. Click **Insert**.

Describe the image in the **Alt text** field. It helps search and screen readers.

## Generate an image
1. Open the **AI generate** tab.
2. Type what you want in the box that says "Describe the image to create".
3. Pick an aspect: auto, 1:1, 3:2 or 2:3.
4. Click generate and wait for the result.

yaya saves generated images to your library under **AI made**. The filters **All**, **Uploads**, **AI made** and **Stock** sort your library.

## Edit an image
Select an image in the library and click **Edit**. Crop, rotate, flip, add a filter, and adjust brightness and contrast. Drag the preview to set the focal point. Click **Save edit** when you finish.

## Studio
**Studio** in the workspace rail shows how many images you have generated this month, as a used/limit counter. It also holds **All templates**, **Create a logo** and **New canvas**.

## Fix common problems
**Upload failed.** Check the file is an image and under 10 MB, then try again.
