How to write an FAQ page that search and AI tools quote
A good FAQ page answers the exact questions your customers ask. A search engine or AI tool can then lift an answer and show it to a searcher.
Find real questions
Read your emails, messages and call notes. List the questions you answer most. Use the customer's own words, not your internal terms.
Write each answer to stand alone
Start with the answer in one sentence. Add one or two sentences of detail. Name the business or product, so the answer still makes sense when it appears without the page around it.
Weak: "Yes, we do that."
Better: "Yes. Rosa's Bakery delivers within Lisbon on weekdays. Orders placed before 6 pm arrive the next day."
Keep it short
Aim for 8 to 15 questions. Group them under clear headings. Do not repeat the same answer in different words.
Add the markup
Mark up the questions with FAQ schema. The text in the markup must match the text on the page.
Keep it fresh
Review the page every quarter. Remove answers that are out of date. Add the new questions from your inbox.
