Download your website data

Framer’s HTML-export guide says it has no HTML export tool for self-hosting. Save your text and images before you cancel. Its data-portability guide also describes downloading published files, but gives no export-menu steps.

  1. Copy each page’s text into a document.
  2. Save the original images you uploaded, or download them from your published pages.
  3. For an image you need to export, open your project in the Framer desktop app and select it.
  4. In the bottom-right Export panel, click +.
  5. Choose a size.
  6. Select PNG or JPG and click Export, following Exporting assets.

Move a domain you bought from Framer

Domains claimed through Framer’s domain offer are managed by Hover, as explained in How to connect a custom domain. You can keep the domain there while changing its website records.

  1. Sign in to Hover, or to the registrar where you bought your existing domain.
  2. Add your domain in yaya’s domain settings to get the records for your new site.
  3. Replace the Framer website records in your registrar’s DNS settings with the records yaya gives you. Keep your email records.
  4. Check that your domain opens your new site before cancelling Framer.

  1. Copy the address. Open your Framer website and copy its address from the browser bar.
  2. Import your site. Paste the address into the form on this page and press Import my site.
  3. Open your draft. Sign in if asked. yaya continues the transfer. Review your draft when it is ready.
  4. Review and publish. yaya drafts the site. Review it, change anything, then publish on a free yayasite.com address.
  5. Move your domain. Connect your own domain when you are ready. It connects free at every tier.

Common questions

What does yaya read from my Framer website?

yaya reads the public page at the address you paste. It drafts your business description from the business name, the page description, the first paragraphs and any phone or email it finds. When yaya builds your site, it tries to copy up to 8 photos from the page, takes an accent color from it, and keeps a font when the page names one yaya offers. If yaya cannot read the page, nothing is copied. You edit everything before you publish.

Will my Framer website go offline?

No. yaya does not touch your Framer account. Your current site stays live until you point your domain at yaya.

Can I keep my domain?

Yes. Every site gets a free address on yayasite.com, and your own domain connects free at every tier.

What does yaya do after I publish?

yaya keeps working: SEO and GEO content, posts, review asks and follow-ups. Anything that costs money or reaches a customer waits for your approval.
