Move your GoDaddy website to yaya

Paste the address of your GoDaddy website. yaya reads the page, fills in your business, and drafts a site you review before you publish.

Start with your address

Before you leave GoDaddy

Download your website data

These steps are for Websites + Marketing, which has no full-site export for another host. Its backups restore within GoDaddy and do not include images. Save your pages and images manually before cancelling; GoDaddy’s WordPress hosting and Airo AI Builder are different products.

  1. Open your published website while it is still online.
  2. Save each page’s text into a document.
  3. Save the images you own from the published pages, or keep your original uploaded files.
  4. Record your page addresses so you can set up redirects on your new site.

Move a domain you bought from GoDaddy

GoDaddy is the registrar for domains bought there. Its GoDaddy domain transfer guide prepares the domain for transfer, including unlocking it. If you keep it at GoDaddy or another existing registrar, update its domain records using yaya’s connection instructions instead.

  1. Open your GoDaddy Domain Portfolio.
  2. Select the domain you want to move.
  3. Choose Transfer to Another Registrar under Transfer.
  4. Review the transfer checklist and any eligibility restrictions.
  5. Select Continue with transfer.
  6. Complete identity verification if prompted.
  7. Copy the authorization code shown, or get it from the domain’s contact email.
  8. Enter the code at your new registrar to start the transfer. For a .uk domain, follow the checklist’s IPS tag route instead.

Then connect the domain to your yaya site. It connects free at every tier. Source: Transfer my domain away from GoDaddy. Read 2026-10-14.

How it works

  1. Copy the address. Open your GoDaddy website and copy its address from the browser bar.
  2. Import your site. Paste the address into the form on this page and press Import my site.
  3. Open your draft. Sign in if asked. yaya continues the transfer. Review your draft when it is ready.
  4. Review and publish. yaya drafts the site. Review it, change anything, then publish on a free yayasite.com address.
  5. Move your domain. Connect your own domain when you are ready. It connects free at every tier.

Common questions

What does yaya read from my GoDaddy website?

yaya reads the public page at the address you paste. It drafts your business description from the business name, the page description, the first paragraphs and any phone or email it finds. When yaya builds your site, it tries to copy up to 8 photos from the page, takes an accent color from it, and keeps a font when the page names one yaya offers. If yaya cannot read the page, nothing is copied. You edit everything before you publish.

Will my GoDaddy website go offline?

No. yaya does not touch your GoDaddy account. Your current site stays live until you point your domain at yaya.

Can I keep my domain?

Yes. Every site gets a free address on yayasite.com, and your own domain connects free at every tier.

What does yaya do after I publish?

yaya keeps working: SEO and GEO content, posts, review asks and follow-ups. Anything that costs money or reaches a customer waits for your approval.
