Before you leave Hocoos

Hocoos announced a shutdown on April 23, 2026. That date has passed. Its notice says stored websites and files are no longer available after shutdown.

Download your website data

These were Hocoos’s export steps before shutdown. Use a copy you already saved; do not rely on being able to generate a new download now. The export included HTML, uploaded images and other files, plus store, booking and mailing-list data. Forms and checkout need rebuilding.

  1. Before shutdown, log in to your Hocoos account.
  2. Select the website from your list.
  3. Click Generate files.
  4. When the export is ready, click Get files within 7 days to download it.
  5. Now, find your saved download and keep a separate copy of its content and images.

Move a domain you bought from Hocoos

Hocoos’s domain transfer guide moved purchased domains to the owner’s Name.com account. It says Hocoos cannot manage or assist with domains after shutdown.

  1. Check your Name.com account for any domain you already transferred from Hocoos.
  2. If it is missing, check the old transfer instructions: create a Name.com account and open Profile to find your Account Code.
  3. Complete your contact information and click Save Contact.
  4. Before shutdown, Hocoos asked owners to send that Account Code and their domain names to support@hocoos.com. If you missed this step, contact Name.com to ask about your domain’s status; recovery is not guaranteed.
  5. If you control the domain at Name.com or another registrar, replace its website DNS records with the records yaya gives you.

How it works

  1. Copy the address. Open your Hocoos website and copy its address from the browser bar.
  2. Import your site. Paste the address into the form on this page and press Import my site.
  3. Open your draft. Sign in if asked. yaya continues the transfer. Review your draft when it is ready.
  4. Review and publish. yaya drafts the site. Review it, change anything, then publish on a free yayasite.com address.
  5. Move your domain. Connect your own domain when you are ready. It connects free at every tier.

What does yaya read from my Hocoos website?

yaya reads the public page at the address you paste. It drafts your business description from the business name, the page description, the first paragraphs and any phone or email it finds. When yaya builds your site, it tries to copy up to 8 photos from the page, takes an accent color from it, and keeps a font when the page names one yaya offers. If yaya cannot read the page, nothing is copied. You edit everything before you publish.

Will my Hocoos website go offline?

Hocoos has shut down. Its notice says hosted websites and stored files are no longer available. Use a download you saved before shutdown to recover your content.

Can I keep my domain?

Yes. Every site gets a free address on yayasite.com, and your own domain connects free at every tier.
