Move your Jimdo website to yaya
Paste the address of your Jimdo website. yaya reads the page, fills in your business, and drafts a site you review before you publish.
Start with your address
Before you leave Jimdo
Download your website data
Jimdo has no downloadable site backup. Its backup guide describes saving pages manually; these copies are reference material, not a file you can import into yaya.
- Open each page of your published Jimdo website.
- Save each page separately with your browser’s save-page command. Jimdo also suggests SingleFile or Fireshot for Windows users.
- Copy the text you want to keep into a document.
- Save your images from the published pages, or keep the original files you uploaded.
Move a domain you bought from Jimdo
Jimdo’s domain-management partners include InterNetX and Name.com. Back up domain email before transferring: mailboxes and old messages do not move with the domain. Requesting a code does not cancel your Jimdo subscription.
- Log in to your Jimdo dashboard.
- Open Website builder, then Domains.
- Open the three-dot menu beside your domain and select Transfer domain. For Creator, use Menu → Domains & Emails → Domains, select your domain, then Request Transfer code.
- Find the AuthCode in the inbox used to register the domain (AdminC). Check spam if it is missing.
- Enter the code at your new registrar to start the transfer. Ask Jimdo support to release any transfer lock that prevents it.
- If your domain is already with another registrar, update its DNS records to the values yaya gives you instead of transferring it.
Then connect the domain to your yaya site. It connects free at every tier. Source: Guide: Get my domain's AuthCode. Read 2026-10-14.
How it works
- Copy the address. Open your Jimdo website and copy its address from the browser bar.
- Import your site. Paste the address into the form on this page and press Import my site.
- Open your draft. Sign in if asked. yaya continues the transfer. Review your draft when it is ready.
- Review and publish. yaya drafts the site. Review it, change anything, then publish on a free yayasite.com address.
- Move your domain. Connect your own domain when you are ready. It connects free at every tier.
Common questions
What does yaya read from my Jimdo website?
yaya reads the public page at the address you paste. It drafts your business description from the business name, the page description, the first paragraphs and any phone or email it finds. When yaya builds your site, it tries to copy up to 8 photos from the page, takes an accent color from it, and keeps a font when the page names one yaya offers. If yaya cannot read the page, nothing is copied. You edit everything before you publish.
Will my Jimdo website go offline?
No. yaya does not touch your Jimdo account. Your current site stays live until you point your domain at yaya.
Can I keep my domain?
Yes. Every site gets a free address on yayasite.com, and your own domain connects free at every tier.
What does yaya do after I publish?
yaya keeps working: SEO and GEO content, posts, review asks and follow-ups. Anything that costs money or reaches a customer waits for your approval.
