Download a workspace as a .tar.gz file, and what the file does and does not contain.

Last updated

Before you start

  • You must be the owner of the workspace. Editors and viewers see "Only owners can export or delete".
  • Exports are per workspace. Repeat for each site.

Download the export

  1. Open the workspace you want to export.
  2. Press Cmd+K or Ctrl+K and choose Business data. Or open /workspace/YOUR-ID/data.
  3. Click Download export under Export.
  4. Wait for "Your download has started."
  5. Save the file named YOUR-SLUG-export.tar.gz.

What is in the file

  • Business details, site address and plan.
  • The member list with roles.
  • The list of site versions and which one is live.
  • Mailboxes, messages, threads and attachment records.
  • Your site files and uploaded media, under an objects folder.
  • A manifest listing every file.

What is not in the file

  • Customers, leads and notes.
  • Invoices and payment history.
  • Your personal account record.

Size limits apply. Any file over 5 MB is skipped, and the total is capped at 10 MB of site files and media. The manifest lists skipped files and says if the export was cut short.
