Before you start
- Invoices sent to a customer with an email address.
- About 1 minute.
Turn reminders on
- Open Settings > Invoices.
- Switch on Automatic payment reminders.
- Pick a Reminder schedule.
- Click Save in the bar at the bottom of the window.
The three schedules
- Standard: 7 days before the due date, on the due date, and 1 and 3 days after.
- Gentle: on the due date and 3 days after.
- Persistent: 7 and 1 days before, on the due date, then 1, 3 and 7 days after.
Reminders go to unpaid invoices marked Sent or Overdue. Each names the invoice, the total and the due date, and links to the PDF and the same pay link the invoice email had.
Turn reminders off for one invoice
- Open Invoices.
- Open the ... menu on the invoice row.
- Choose Turn off reminders.
Choose Turn on reminders from the same menu to resume.
Questions
Do reminders stop when the customer pays? Yes. Only unpaid invoices get them.
Where do I see what was sent? Open the invoice, click ⋯, and choose Email history.
Why does an invoice turn Overdue with reminders off? Overdue follows the due date. It does not depend on reminders.
