Move your site from Framer to yaya

Export your Framer CMS content, rebuild the site in yaya from its address, and point your domain.

What moves and what does not

yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live Framer site and drafts a new site from them. Framer designs, components and animations do not move. CMS collections can be exported with Framer's CMS Export plugin as CSV files.

Before you start

  • A Framer login and a yaya account.
  • Access to the domain registrar.
  • About 30 minutes, plus DNS wait time.

Move your site

  1. Open your project in Framer and click Plugins.
  2. Search for CMS Export, open it, and pick a collection.
  3. Click Export to download a CSV. Repeat for each collection.
  4. Save the images you want from your Framer assets.
  5. Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste your site address under Already have a website? (optional) and click Import from my site.
  6. Read the description under What does your business do?, fix it, then click Next.
  7. Review the draft, upload your images, and publish. See Publish your site.

Point your domain to yaya

In Framer, open your project's Site Settings and the Domains section, and remove the custom domain once yaya is ready. Framer notes that moving a domain between projects needs no DNS change, but moving it to yaya does. Follow Move a domain to yaya.

Use Switch DNS with no downtime for the order of changes.

Fix common problems

Framer says the domain is already connected. Remove it from the Framer project first.

CMS posts are not in the draft. Paste their text into the description or write them in yaya.
