Understand your site visit numbers
What counts as a visitor, a page view, and people on your site now, and what never counts.
Last updated
What each number means
- People on your site now counts separate visitors who loaded a page in the last 5 minutes.
- Visitors counts separate people who loaded a page in the period shown, such as the last 7 days.
- Page views counts page loads in that period. Reload the same page within 30 minutes and it still counts once.
What never raises these numbers
Search engines, AI crawlers and other bots never count, and named crawlers such as GPTBot show in their own list below the charts. Opening your own site from the View live site link on this dashboard never counts either.
Why a day might look different from your clock
Each day on the charts runs from midnight to midnight UTC, not your local time.
