What moves and what does not

yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live Weebly site and drafts a new site from them. Weebly store items, blog comments and form entries do not move. Weebly may offer a site export in its settings, which you can keep as a backup.

Before you start

  • A Weebly login and a yaya account.
  • Your domain login.
  • About 30 minutes, plus DNS wait time.

Move your site

  1. Open your Weebly site settings and look for an Export option for the site.
  2. Download the file if one is offered and keep it as a backup.
  3. Copy the text of your blog posts into a document. Save your photos from the Weebly editor.
  4. Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste your site address under Already have a website? (optional) and click Import from my site.
  5. Read the description under What does your business do? and add what the page left out.
  6. Pick your business type, location and language, then click Next.
  7. Review the draft, upload your photos, and publish. See Publish your site.

Point your domain to yaya

Open the domain settings where the domain is registered and follow Move a domain to yaya. Weebly may use its own DNS records, so check Switch DNS with no downtime first.

Add redirects from your old page addresses.

Fix common problems

There is no export option. Copy text and photos by hand. yaya still imports the public page.

The old store is gone. Use Take card payments for new orders.
