Mailboxes and the shared inbox

How yaya mailboxes work, what the inbox shows, and who can see it.

What a mailbox is

A mailbox is an email address for your business. Its address looks like hello.your-handle@yayasite.com: the name you pick, a dot, your workspace handle, then the yayasite.com domain.

What the inbox shows

Inbox in the left rail is one list. It mixes two kinds of rows, and the Source column tells you which is which.

  • form: a message someone sent through the contact form on your site.
  • mailbox: an email thread that reached one of your mailboxes.

Rows are sorted by newest activity. A dot marks unread rows, and the number next to the Inbox title is the unread count. The search box filters by name, address and message text.

Who can see mail

Owners and editors can read mailbox mail, write new messages and reply. Viewers see a notice that mail is visible to owners and editors, and they have no Compose button or reply box. Only owners see the Mail settings button (the gear next to search), which opens the Mail setup panel, and only owners can create a mailbox. Editors see "Ask the owner to create a mailbox."

Limits

Free plans include 0 mailboxes, Launch includes 1 and Grow includes 5. Each mailbox can send up to 100 emails per day.

What you can do from the inbox

Sent messages show in the thread view.
