Move your site from WordPress to yaya
Export your WordPress content, rebuild the site in yaya from its address, and point your domain.

What moves and what does not
yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live WordPress site and drafts a new site from them. Plugins, themes, comments and WooCommerce data do not move. A full export file stays useful as your own backup.
Before you start
- Admin access to WordPress (WordPress.com or self-hosted) and a yaya account.
- Your domain login, and your hosting login if the site is self-hosted.
- About 45 minutes, plus DNS wait time.
Move your site
- Open your WordPress admin and go to Tools > Export.
- Choose all content and click Download Export File. You get an XML file.
- Download your media library images from the Media screen or your hosting file manager.
- Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste your site address under Already have a website? (optional) and click Import from my site.
- Read the description under What does your business do? and add the posts and pages you want to keep.
- Pick your business type, location and language, then click Next.
- Review the draft, upload your images, and publish. See Publish your site.
Point your domain to yaya
On WordPress.com the domain is managed in its domain settings. On self-hosted WordPress it lives at your registrar, not your host. Follow Move a domain to yaya, and change DNS using Switch DNS with no downtime.
Your WordPress URLs will change, so add redirects. Check Keep your email working if your host runs your email.
Fix common problems
The export file will not download. Try a smaller selection, such as posts only.
Old plugin pages return 404. Add a redirect to the closest page in yaya. See Set up redirects.
