Refund a payment

Before you start

• You are the workspace owner. Only the owner sees the refund buttons.
• Payments are connected and the payment shows under Transactions. See Take card payments.
• About 1 minute.

Refund a payment

1. Open Settings > Payments.
2. Find the payment in Transactions by email and date.
3. Click Full refund to return the whole amount.
4. Wait for the table to reload. Status shows the new state.

The money goes back to the card the customer paid with. yaya also returns its plan fee on the refunded amount.

Refund part of a payment

1. Open Settings > Payments.
2. Find the payment in Transactions.
3. Click Partial refund.

Partial refund returns half of what is still unrefunded, rounded to the cent. Click it again to return half of the remainder. There is no field for a custom amount.

Fix common problems

The refund buttons are greyed out. The payment is already fully refunded.

There are no refund buttons. You are not the owner. Ask the owner.

Refund failed. Try again. If it keeps failing, email support@yaya.page with the customer email and date.

The invoice still says Paid. A refund changes the transaction. It does not change the invoice status. Click Void on the invoice if you want it closed out.
