Move your site from Wix to yaya

What moves and what does not

Wix does not give you a file of your whole site to take elsewhere. yaya reads the public text, headings and image references on your live Wix site and drafts a new one. Wix Stores, Bookings, members and apps do not move. Export your contacts, products and orders from your Wix dashboard where Wix offers a download.

Before you start

• A Wix login and a yaya account.
• Your domain login. If Wix registered it, you will change its settings in Wix.
• About 45 minutes, plus DNS wait time.

Move your site

1. Open your live Wix site and copy its address from the browser bar.
2. Download your contacts, products and orders from your Wix dashboard if you use them.
3. Save the photos you want to keep from your Wix media library.
4. Open yaya and start onboarding. Paste the address under Already have a website? (optional) and click Import from my site.
5. Read the description under What does your business do? and fix it.
6. Pick your business type, location and language, then click Next.
7. Review the draft, upload your photos, and publish. See Publish your site.

Point your domain to yaya

Keep the Wix site live until yaya is ready. In your Wix domain settings, look for the option to connect the domain to another site or change its name servers, then follow Move a domain to yaya. Wix may have its own nameservers or records in place, and Switch DNS with no downtime shows the order to change them.

Set up redirects for old URLs so your search results keep working.
