Send visitors from an old page address to a new page or another site, with a permanent 301 or a temporary 302.

What a redirect does
A redirect sends a visitor, and search engines, from an old page address to a new one. Use it when a page moves or after you switch from another site builder.
A redirect answers only for an address that has no page on your site. If a page exists at that address, visitors see the page.
Before you start
- You are an owner or an editor. Viewers can see the list but not change it.
- The old address, like
/old-page, and where it should go.
Add a redirect
- Open Website > Domain.
- Find Redirects under the domain section.
- Type the old path in From, like
/old-page. - Type the new path or a full address in To, like
/new-pageorhttps://example.com/page. - Pick 301 permanent or 302 temporary.
- Click Add redirect.
Use 301 when the page has moved for good. Use 302 when the move is short term.
Edit or delete a redirect
To edit a rule, click Edit next to it, change it and click Save redirect.
To remove a rule, click Delete and then Delete redirect to confirm.
After a delete, visitors to that address see the page-not-found screen again.
Rules and limits
- From is a path on your site that starts with
/. It cannot hold?or#, and it cannot be just/. - Paths are not case sensitive, and a trailing slash does not matter.
- To is a path that starts with
/or a full http:// or https:// address. - A visitor's query string carries over to a path target that sets none. It never goes to another site.
- A site holds up to 100 redirects. The panel shows the count, like "12 of 100 redirects".
Fix common problems
"A redirect from this path already exists." Edit the existing rule instead.
"From and To are the same page." Point the redirect at a different page.
"This redirect would send visitors in a loop back to From." Another rule sends visitors back. Change one of them.
"A site can have up to 100 redirects." Delete one you no longer need.
The redirect does nothing. A page already exists at the old address. Rename or unpublish that page, or pick another address.
I need example.com to go to www.example.com. Redirects here work on page paths. See Use a subdomain or www.
For a site move, see Redirect old URLs.
