Move your DNS to yaya
Change your domain's nameservers at any registrar so yaya manages its DNS. This is the first step to email on your own domain.

What this does
Connecting a domain needs one record. Moving your DNS goes further. You point the domain's nameservers at yaya, and yaya then manages every record for the domain.
yaya copies your existing records first. Your site and mail keep working during the switch.
Do this if you want mailboxes on your own domain, like hello@yourdomain.com. See Set up email on your own domain. For a website only, connect the domain instead. It is simpler.
Before you start
- You are a workspace owner.
- The domain is connected to your site. See Connect a domain you own.
- A login at your registrar, the company that sold you the domain.
Start the move in yaya
- Open Website > Domain.
- Click Use for email on the domain's card.
- Choose Move my DNS to yaya.
- Click Move DNS to yaya.
- Read the two nameservers yaya shows. Each domain gets its own pair.
Change the nameservers at your registrar
- Sign in at your registrar.
- Open the domain's nameserver settings. Some registrars call them Custom DNS or Nameservers.
- Replace every nameserver listed there with the two yaya shows.
- Save.
At Namecheap, open Domain List, click Manage, and find Nameservers on the Domain tab. Choose Custom DNS and enter the two values.
Check the move
- Return to yaya.
- Click Check again.
The switch can take minutes to a few hours. When it finishes, the DNS records table appears for the domain. See DNS records explained.
Fix common problems
The check does not pass. The registrar may still show an old nameserver. Remove every old one, save, and wait.
The page says "The DNS move failed." Click Check again. If it fails again, email support@yaya.page with the domain name.
I want to go back. Set the old nameservers again at your registrar.
